Shi is board certified in pediatrics. She received her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and bachelorís degree from the prestigious Rice University where she was a Jones Scholar. Shi completed her residency in pediatrics at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, N.Y.
Shi is a published researcher, who enjoys staying abreast of topics in biomedical anthropology. In addition to English, she speaks both Chinese and Spanish.
